This 2-Day workshop is a comprehensive EMDR-informed program for parents and caregivers who seek empowerment through facilitator-led reading materials and experiential practice developed by Ana M. Gomez, MC, LPC. The workshop includes a colorful workbook, visual aids, and resources. The Parenting Wheel + EMDR GPEP supportively empowers the parent and transforms the child's world as a result.

Day 1

Modules 1-3 alongside 3 restorative sessions between modules

Day 2

Modules 4-6 alongside 3 restorative sessions between modules

Light snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Each module is 60-90 minutes in duration and each restorative session is 20-30 minutes in duration.

Required: A Virtual 55 minute pre-screening questionnaire will determine if EMDR-informed groupwork is likely to be a good fit for you right now. I only take on clients for whom groupwork is a good fit and will likely to have a good outcome.

IADC Therapy

2-Session Comprehensive Program for Grief and Loss

Induced After Death Communication developed by Dr. Allan Botkin

Induced After Death Communication (IADC) is a derivative of the well-known trauma therapy Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and was developed by Chicago-based clinical psychologist in 1995 during his work with traumatized war veterans.

Specifically, IADC Therapy is a protocol that targets the sadness associated with grief and bereavement. Dr. Botkin altered the traditional EMDR protocol in several ways, including targeting the ‘core sadness’ as the source of his clients’ distress, and reported that he was able to achieve superior results than standard EMDR. He reported that his very brief protocol (2 x 90-minute sessions) was able to significantly reduce the sadness associated with grief, and in many cases resulted in an ADC.

IADC therapy can assist with all types of bereavement-related grief. You may have experienced the loss of a spouse/partner, parent, child, sibling, dear friend, or pet. IADC therapy can assist with varying grief levels from moderate to severe, including complicated / prolonged grief, traumatic losses and those with unresolved grief, even after many years.

After Death Communication (ADCs) are a common, naturally occurring phenomenon that can provide healing and assist in the resolution of unresolved issues relating to a death. Regardless of whether you experience an ADC, the primary aim of the therapy is to reduce sadness.

If you are willing and able to experience the full depth of your grief - and if sadness is the main issue that you require help with - then healing grief with IADC therapy is possible.

IADC therapy requires a brief screening process before clients are accepted as it may not be suitable for some people, including those for whom the loss is very recent (less than six moths) and other factors.

I do have a pre-screening questionnaire to assist in determining if IADC therapy is a good fit and are therefore very likely to have a good outcome.

Induced After Death Communication

Core EMDR for Grief and Loss

  • A 55-minute video call with Ms. Raitz for screening to confirm your eligibility for treatment.
  • The screening is $200 USD
  • The complete therapy consists of 2 x 90-minute online therapy sessions (conducted via video). The second appointment should be held between 1 and 7 days from the first appointment.
  • The therapy is $200 USD per hour ($600 total for 2 x 90-minute sessions)
  • You acknowledge that the primary purpose of IADC therapy is to process and reduce sadness, and that an ADC may not occur.
  • You will need a computer with a reasonable webcam and sound, and a good internet connection.

How IADC Therapy Helps with Grief and Loss

Emotional Healing

Many clients undergoing this therapy report reduced sadness, sometimes to a large degree. They are frequently more able to recall ‘happy’ memories and the associated positive emotions. Previously distressing imagery or memories was lessened, and previously intrusive thoughts are often described as feeling more like ‘facts’ which are ‘in the past’. It is common to have insights about the deceased, your relationship, and how to find meaning in the loss.

Clients frequently describe having a greater sense of peace, calm, acceptance and ‘lightness’. Many clients report perceiving the presence of the deceased in some way – known as an after-death communication (ADC).
